Shingle Roof Solar Pool Heating
An elegant solution
Hot Sun solar pool heaters are flexible. Standard 2" manifolds can be joined with standard 2" MJ couplings or the manifolds can be joined by gluing stubs of 1.5" PVC pipe inside. These systems are secured with a chain link fence top rail top and bottom through our unique flashed roof brackets for a secure and leak free roof interface.
Hot Sun solar panels for pool heating are fully repairable and very durable.You can walk on the system when it is not wet. Frozen solid the fin tubing can not be damaged. Vinyl construction means no worries of compatibility with pool chemicals.

The roof interface
Shingle roofs must be penetrated in order to secure a solar pool heater. Our concept starts with properly securing a framework to meet wind loading requirements. Current methodology involves locating rafters and limiting position of roof hardware to rafter locations. Hot Sun mounting brackets and flashings are located anywhere because the multi screw concept grabs the roof sheathing securely with best practices. The video shows how its done.
The roof bracket is made of solid 1/2" x 1.5" x 5" aluminum. A stainless steel bolt is pressed in from behind.
Conventional orientation is when the flow goes up the roof. Manifolds are hung from a chain link fence top rail from above and bottom manifolds are secured similarly from below. Only Hot Sun collectors can be secured properly to shingle roofs in this way due to their flexible vinyl based composition. When mounting competing collectors with our hardware do no hold the bottom manifolds down.

Hot Sun solar collectors can also flow sideways to take advantage or parallelograms and trapezoidal roof spaces. The manifolds can be angled to match angled roof lines. We use the same roof connection schemes but we create a frame around the collector bank that holds a trapeze negating the need for improper roof connections.
